Moonrise Over Carlingford Lough

This is a scene I have photographed on many occasions, usually in Winter for an early morning sunrise. The night before I took this photograph I noticed the moon was rising right over Carlingford Lough. The next night I made my way to the Flagstaff Viewpoint just before the moon rise. The moon wasn't visible until about 45 minutes later when it was well up over the Bay. Fortunately there was still enough light to give colour and detail to the landscape, just as the lights of Warrenpoint came on in the distance.
